International Arrivals Process
Step-by-Step: Arriving at FLX
1
Deplane & Follow Signage
Upon landing, deplane and follow the green "International Arrivals / Customs & Border Protection" signs throughout Terminal 1. All arrivals are directed to Level 1 of the Arrivals Hall via dedicated corridors from every gate. Do not follow signs for Departures or Connections at this stage.
💡 Stay with your group. Transfer passengers connecting to a domestic flight must still clear CBP before re-entering the secure area.
2
Collect Your Baggage
Proceed to Baggage Claim Carousels 1–2 on the Arrivals Level. Check the overhead screens for your flight number and assigned carousel. Collect all checked bags before proceeding to CBP — you must present all luggage during inspection.
💡 Keep your baggage claim tickets. They may be checked against your bags by CBP officers.
3
Complete Your Customs Declaration Form
All arriving passengers must complete a RS Customs Declaration Form (Form RS-CBP-6059). Paper forms are available throughout the arrival corridors and at baggage claim. One form per family or travel group is accepted. You must declare all items including gifts, food, currency over $10,000 RS, and commercial merchandise.
⚠ Failure to declare required items may result in fines, seizure of goods, or denial of entry. When in doubt — declare it.
4
Proceed to CBP Processing — Level 1, Arrivals Hall
Enter the CBP processing hall and join the appropriate queue based on your travel document. Lane signage is clearly posted at the hall entrance. Republic States citizens and permanent residents use the RS Citizens lane. All other passport holders use the All Passports lanes.
💡 Have your passport, completed declaration form, and any supporting documents (visa, travel authorization, return ticket) ready before approaching the primary inspection booth.
5
Primary Inspection
A CBP Officer will review your travel documents, ask questions about your trip, and review your declaration form. Biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) will be collected from eligible non-RS-citizen travelers. Answer all questions honestly and completely. This process typically takes 1–3 minutes per traveler.
⚠ Electronic devices may be inspected or detained by CBP officers at their discretion without a warrant.
6
Secondary Inspection (If Referred)
Some travelers may be referred to secondary inspection by the primary CBP Officer. This is routine and does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing. In secondary inspection, officers may conduct a more thorough review of documents, baggage, and declarations. Agricultural items, currency, and commercial goods receive special attention here.
💡 Secondary inspection is conducted in a secure area off the main hall. Follow officer instructions and remain calm — the process is typically completed within 20–40 minutes.
7
Agriculture & Customs Screening
After primary inspection, all bags pass through the RS Agricultural Screening Area before you exit. Declared agricultural items will be inspected by Agriculture specialists. Prohibited items will be confiscated. You may be asked to open bags for physical inspection — cooperate fully with Agriculture officers.
⚠ Agricultural violations — even unintentional ones — carry significant fines. All food, plant, soil, and animal products must be declared.
8
Exit to the Arrivals Hall
Once cleared by CBP and Agriculture, proceed through the exit doors into the public Arrivals Hall on Level 1. Ground transportation, taxis, rideshare, and City Metro are all accessible from Level 1. Welcome to Lego City and the Republic States.
💡 Connecting passengers: re-check any bags at the Domestic Baggage Re-Check counter (Level 1, near the T2 connector) and proceed to Terminal 2 via the airport connector.
